Indoor Competition 5: European Indoor Athletics Championships, Glasgow 2019

Hi! Did you catch me on your screens on BBC 2 this weekend? If not, check out this ‘Moment’ for an update of my performance, placing & reactions at the European Indoor Championships, Glasgow 2019. I’m too overwhelmed & slightly tired to write a blog, so hopefully this snippet and the link will suffice!

  • 7th at my first European Champs since 2012!
  • And made my first ever senior international final!
  • Currently number one female long jumper in the UK too.

All good feelings & achievements, on reflection.

European Indoor Athletics Champs, Glasgow 2019 – Abigail Irozuru, Great Britain

In the warm up area before the qualifying round. Everything needs to be labelled!
The calm before the storm. Thankfully the crowd in Glasgow was great! They got behind me in every jump, clapping and cheering me on
Checking out the stadium and posing before the event began.
The excitement when my bag of kit arrived with an hour to spare before I took my train to Glasgow!
Last round jump where I realised I would finish 7th in the final. Not bad. But I want more. I always want more.
So many friends and family sent me pictures and videos of the event from their perspective. Check out my Instagram Long Jump highlights for more vids and pics. This is one of many. Serious., focused competitor Abi.
