About Me

I am a private tutor with over nine years of experience, a University College London LLB Law graduate and a top British track and field athlete competing on Great Britain and England teams internationally since 2007. I am passionate about tutoring and teaching because I love to learn and to share my love of learning. Knowledge is power, and it has been and continues to be my desire to develop this within each of my tutees and students over the years.

Approach to Tutoring

My ethos is to encourage learning and improvement through constructive, interactive learning programs tailored to suit each student’s needs uniquely. I also encourage the development and furtherance of independent study. For example, children and adults are more likely to Google an answer than to work it out for themselves. There are a lot of shortcuts these days, and I encourage students to use the knowledge they have to solve problems and challenge themselves beyond their perceived limitations. Faster is not always better!

Why Tutoring?

Even within smaller schools where class sizes may be reduced to around twenty students, there will often be a few who are unable to keep up with the demands of the education system. Everybody learns at their own pace, and so tutoring plays a role where everybody can benefit. Tutoring can be as integral to those falling behind as to those who are gliding through their school days. It acts as a propellant to both be able to receive extra help and prosper because of it; and to push yourself beyond the mean.

As an international British athlete I am able to share my commitment, passion and drive for striving to be the best you can be, whatever the area you choose to focus on. I believe people are often limited in their achievements by their reductive thoughts and self-belief, so I aim to instill a greater sense of ‘can do’ and ‘impossible is nothing’ attitude into their approach to learning and life!

My goal is always to help my tutees to achieve their best and more than they may have ever first imagined or hoped for!

I love tutoring because it ensures I am always asking questions, encouraging others to ask questions, and of course to answer them too. Because it is the ability and the willingness to find a solution to problems around us that helps us to excel in both study and life.
