Motivational, Inspirational & Educational Stories of Success

I love living vicariously through other people, don’t you? If you can’t physically experience certain feel-good moments, the next best thing is to cheer another on, hear their story, feel their emotions and almost live it. Each and every person on this earth is different. We all have our unique, at times quirky character traits, our personal ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’.

I adore hearing about the experiences of friends and family who have travelled to places I’ve never been to,

You may have travelled to Beijing, Guatemala and climbed Mount Everest. You may even have holidayed on the English coast in places like Cornwall or Brighton Beach. I have done none of these things, but I adore hearing about the experiences of friends and family who have travelled to places I’ve never been to, studied and worked at schools and offices, and in subject areas I wouldn’t have the faintest idea about. And because I have not personally experienced these things, I am all the more eager to listen to such stories of adventure.

In part, due to the influence of social media, culture across the world nowadays is built upon the foundation of vicarious living and learning.

Only this morning I was inspired by a woman who had lived through a situation I would not hope to experience in a million years, yet hearing her story she imbued such confidence, sincerity and hopefulness, it was impossible for me to not come away from that experience unchanged.

She was a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing.
She is a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing.

The moment in her life that had such a profound and life-altering effect touched not only me, but also others listening in the auditorium at that TEDx Beacon Street conference. A man in the back row wiped tears from his eyes during her heart-wrenching story of survival and overwhelming strength through a traumatic circumstance. The talk closed to a standing ovation, such was the power of her story.

It is my hope to motivate, inspire and educate others through stories from my own experiences and others. Because blogs about my life, thoughts and inspirations can become rather monotonous, I am going to take inspiration from others, and share my discoveries with you, my beautiful readers! I hope you enjoy this journey of discovery as much as I will…
